Meet the Women from different backgrounds who have come together to inspire the world through Tales of Womanhood

Maureen Mbondiah Mandipaza an entrepreneur, philanthropist, mother, wife, and now becoming author founded an organisation called Womanhood Global in 2017 a platform to empower educate and equip women from disadvantaged communities to become more and become more through facilitating projects that eradicate poverty and the handout mentality. The organisation has facilitated several campaigns to include sewing machine projects and sanitary pad campaigns. Since its establishment, the organisation has grown a network of women who are ready to change the world.

Where did the idea for the book come from?

The organisation has managed to build a network of women from different backgrounds who come together physically and through social media to support the efforts of the initiative. Annually Womanhood Global has staged several networking events to include Gala Dinner Awards, High Teas, Business Conferences in the UK and abroad. It was through hosting these events talking and listening to women even in different positions of influence narrate fascinating stories that blew my mind and   I wanted to offer the women on the platform the opportunity to tell their own stories through the Anthology book Project.

What kind of Women joined the book project?

One thing I have quickly come to realise is that women’s experience and their similar life challenges, regardless of where they come from, so I have brought together a mix of women from different paths of life, to narrate this through Tales of Womanhood.

What did you write about in the book?

My chapter is titled “The Unapologetic Walk Of An Empowered Woman

Aimed at empowering any woman who will read it, to believe in themselves and not allow situations, circumstances, or any setback to hold them back. I also talk about walking unapologetically to what you believe and not what the world perceives. I believe that many women experience low self-esteem, depression, lack of confidence due to circumstances like divorce, bereavement, unemployment, poverty that often lead to isolation and ultimately becomes a vicious cycle.

Can you tell us some of the Tales to Expect to find in the Book?

Each story carries a powerful message of hope and love. I am delighted to mention a few, to start with:

Turning Rejection into Direction by Sandra Jesus

Beyond the Mask by Melody Makuwanza

Finding Light in the Dark by Edith Utete
