Lucresia Guel, mother of four sons, and a grandmother; going by the name of “ granmom”, is Mexican American. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended a Catholic school in Pittsburgh as well as in Mexico. Later in life she earned her degree in International Business.
Lucresia’s father felt she could gain more opportunities knowing two fluent languages. So a tutor was hired to help her whilst in school. Another thing her father made her do at the age of 15, was to get a full – time job. She managed to find work in Import and Export and went on to work for several International Global Companies and built up an appetite for travel
She is the founder of , a travel company. When she founded ESCALA, from scratch, she felt very lonely and stressed. She had to work very long hours, which was difficult – as she had growing children. Sometimes she felt it was easier to give up.
As a result of the anxiety she experienced, she kept reflecting on how giving up would mean losing everything she had struggled so hard to achieved. She realized she had put a lot her business even though she had little to show. She persevered, and fast forward several years later – all her business debts have paid off. She is now looking into expanding into other countries.
Her hobbies are painting and refurbishing antique pieces of furniture and jewellery. She does not sell anything but uses everything to display at her offices and home.
She also enjoys reading and watching documentaries with a glass of red wine. She sees herself as spiritually focused and and often likes to do ‘chanting; to help relax.
