I wanted to be a makeup artist since I was 6 years when I first watched a makeup artist on TV. I was mesmerised by how quickly they transformed somebody’s looks and the effect that had on their client. After all these years, I am still fascinated by how happy my clients are with their new look, once I apply the makeup, how they feel about themselves.
Could beauty products, lipstick, blusher, balls pearls and eye-shadow gift a woman with much needed Self Love?
Women are under a lot of pressure to look good and they compare themselves with images they see in magazines and on social media. I believe that each one of us is unique and we have to celebrate that uniqueness; it’s okay to be yourself, just be the best version of who you are.
We all want to feel amazing about ourselves but may not necessary know where to start. I wish more women find the courage to ask for help, after all, women suffer from the same insecurities. I love to offer support to other women, I made a habit of making a compliment to another women because we all have off days and self love is in short supply.
Most clients are people who I’ve met in real life, not online, and appreciate that as a makeup artist I build a real connection, I listen to their challenges and while I offer skincare services, I educate them on the science of self love, and the makeup is only a small part of self love.
I take inspiration from other makeup artist, and I love learning from my peers. I also have a blog and I invite my clients to ask question, as I don’t just assume that people know how to do basic make up. I show them how to break things down so that what they learn is serving them in their daily life.
The person who inspires me the most is my mum because she always believes in me, and she made me believe that I can do anything I put my mind to, and taught me that I just need to run with that idea as far as I can. She pushed me to be the best I can be.
No pity party last long with her around!
