Dr Ruby Bakshi Khurdi, an innovative academic from Switzerland, believes that the answer lies in fostering our human values that help us distinguish between right and wrong.

As an academician, her teaching focuses on learning through team spirit, leadership development and quality management. She has attended various cultural tours with international group of students to Turkey, Amsterdam, China, France, Prague and within Switzerland.
Founder of Indo-Swiss Cultural Network, Ruby promotes healthy cultural integration and helps members of the Indian community living in Switzerland to adapt and adjust with Swiss norms!! She uses this platform to share women’s inspirational stories, rich experiences, job postings, and exchange ideas for community development.
A highly successful and inspirational professor, Ruby is teaching courses related to Human Resources, Communication, Business Ethics and Marketing in Business and Hospitality Management Schools. Ruby has given various successful workshops & podcasts on topics related to Effective Communication, Human Values, Women Empowerment & Emotional Intelligence.
Ruby does not come across as a regular Academician; due to her personalized approach towards teaching. Sometimes for case studies, she conducts her classes outside in the garden or in the cafeteria where students discuss and talk more freely without any pressure. Her teaching is not just limited within the boundaries of a classroom; it extends even outside. She is always there to give constant support to her students.
Ruby believes in leading with innovative styles of teaching and learning – her strength is her voice! Her approach has always been different from her colleague instead of following a conservative approach of publishing her articles, writing business papers, she listened to her inner voice! She decided to reach out to her students, help them, spend time with them, mentor them and give them visibility!

The first Indian-Swiss Female Professor in Switzerland who was invited for a TEDx Talk, Ruby has been an inspirational professor to many students from diverse backgrounds – helping them to feel at home and settle comfortably in a foreign country away from their families.
Founder of Réseau InterculturELLE des Femmes (RIF) Ruby is reaching out to women, connecting them, sharing their stories, helping them in cultural integration. She received positive support from the local governing authorities – they provided a lovely venue where she organizes monthly themed meetings with women of different cultural & professional backgrounds. Thus providing a strong & lovely support system for each-other.
Inspired by Giselle Rufer and her courage to think and do something as unique and exclusive as the Delance Watch for Women Empowerment, Ruby joined “Time for Women” awareness campaign with Delance Swiss watches for India and Switzerland. She proudly wears her watch everyday knowing that time is not just money, but time is life itself…

Women Empowerment Certificate Program is an educational initiative undertaken by her as Global Chair Goodwill Ambassador of Switzerland. As an international speaker she is invited to various forums to speak & inspire other women around the world! Through her free online tutorial, she explains various myths and reality of Women Empowerment.
What does it take to build a Professional life?
It looks like a chapter from a high profile career magazine; totally magical!! But magic didn’t happen in a day…
Ruby had to struggle a lot to carve a niche for herself in a foreign country! After marriage like a dutiful Indian wife, she left her flourishing career as a Principal of a Secondary school, her adoring parents, her kid sister, her friends to follow her husband in Switzerland. It looked like a dream come true to everyone back home! But she had to start from scratch – the initial few months were very difficult and challenging – language, being a major issue. Cultural shock was evident coming from India; where there are festivities around the year – too many people, traffic, spicy food etc. She had to make lots of adjustments in her way of living. It was not easy, but she did it with consistent support of her loving husband.
Professionally, she had to work almost double to be noticed in a male dominated business management teaching industry. She always tried to be innovative in her teaching style, she was the first one in her school to introduce beamers in the classrooms, almost 18 years ago. Her teaching methods were unique, giving her an edge over her peers. Her sincere efforts got noticed and she was appointed as the Academic Dean of prestigious girls boarding school at a very young age!
