Train your employees.

Make everyone accountable.
Your health and safety processes should ensure that everyone is responsible for their part in keeping the business safe. This should be emphasised among your leadership and management teams, too, so that you are not the only person leading the charge.
Consider the hierarchy.
You need to ensure that all leaders and managers are held responsible for their own teams. If you have a safety hierarchy in the office, you’re going to be able to tell your employees where to turn when there is a problem. This prevents all issues being laid at your feet.
Encourage a reporting culture.
Your employees should know and understand the significance of reporting all issues, first aid procedures and even something as simple as a cut finger. All health and safety issues should be reported as soon as possible so that you can keep up with them.
